How to Be Seen, Heard, and Respected

What I Learned About Presence From 1,500 Kids

Would you ignore a lion if it walked into the room?

Of course not. Even if it wasn’t roaring, you’d feel its presence. The energy would shift, and your attention would go straight to it.

That’s presence. Some people have it naturally. Others struggle to be noticed, no matter how smart or hardworking they are.

I learned just how powerful presence can be when I had to control 1,500 students in a chaotic school assembly in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia a few years ago. It was the whole school end of year assembly and I was responsible for the welfare of all 1500 students.

The sports hall was chaos. Kids were running, shouting, climbing on chairs, and throwing bags. The teachers had completely given up. Some stared at their phones, others gazed out the windows, pretending the noise wasn’t happening.

I walked to the front and did one simple thing.

No mic, no shouting, I put my finger to my lips and whispered, "Sssh."

In an instant, every single student dropped into their seats in total silence.

I hadn’t demanded their attention. I had commanded it.

This is what leadership presence is all about.

If you’ve ever walked into a meeting and felt invisible, if your ideas have been ignored only to be praised when someone else repeats them, or if you constantly have to fight to be heard, it’s not your expertise that’s the issue. It’s your presence.

This month, I’m focusing on how energy and leadership presence are deeply connected. If people are ignoring you or failing to take you seriously, it’s rarely about your skills—it’s about the energy you’re projecting. And I’ll be diving even deeper into this subject in The Power Within programme next month.

Let’s talk about energy projection and the practice of Reiki. Reiki isn’t just about relaxation. It’s a powerful tool for clearing energetic blocks that make you hesitate, shrink, or doubt yourself. This month, I’ll be sharing more about how Reiki can help you shift your leadership presence and command respect effortlessly.

Cultivating Leadership Presence

If you’ve ever struggled to be heard in meetings or watched others get credit for your ideas, the issue isn’t what you say, it’s your presence.

Leadership presence is the unspoken authority that makes people listen before you even speak. It’s not about being loud or working harder. It’s about how you show up.

In this month’s blog, I break down:

  • What leadership presence really is and why it matters.

  • How I controlled 1,500 students with nothing but presence.

  • A quick energy shift to help you command attention effortlessly. This is really powerful, you need to try this!

Final Thoughts

People aren’t ignoring you because you’re not good enough.

They’re responding to the energy you put out.

When you shift your presence, everything else shifts.

  • You walk into a room, and people notice.

  • You speak, and people listen.

  • You show up with authority, and people respect it.

It's not about forcing confidence. It’s about aligning yourself with it.

Until next time, step into your power.

All the best,

Steve
