Is Reiki Against Your Religion?

This is a big question that many people ask when they’re exploring the possibility of training in Reiki.

A few years ago, I trained a Muslim student called Mohamed, and he loved the whole experience and was very excited with his new abilities. The experience felt clear, grounded, and completely aligned for him.

Then he went home and started reading and researching online. Angels. Spirit guides. Crystals. Ascended masters. Channelled beings. The usual…

And of course, this left him feeling very unsettled, to ay the least. He decided that Reiki was, in fact, completely against his religion and so he prayed to Allah to remove his attunement.

A year later, he came back to review another class with me. I didn’t ask him why this was suddenly not against his religion.

During the class, when we reached the attunement section, he told me he’d need to be re-attuned because he’d asked God to remove the one I’d originally given him.

I asked him to raise his hands up to his chest and see what he felt. Was there any sense of energy radiating from his palms still? Could he feel it in his chest area? His eyes widened. Yes, it was still there.

Nothing had been removed. What had originally disturbed him wasn’t Reiki, it was his and other’s interpretations that had been layered on top of it.

That distinction matters. There is a difference between what Reiki actually is, and what people interpret it as being. Often interpretation is presented as the objective nature of the practice and the energy, when it’s not.

I’m Looking For 5–10 People

I’ve been working with a client who previously suffered from CPTSD. She had flashbacks. Addictive urges. Was on medication.

After working with me using a specific energetic empowerment protocol I developed, she is no longer reporting those symptoms. She doesn’t take her PTSD medication anymore because she doesn’t feel she needs it.
