Hi everyone,
This week hasn't quite gone to plan.
A few days ago, I accidentally deleted a huge amount of data from one of my hard drives. Years of work disappeared in an instant. Since then, I've been spending hours trying to recover the files, juggling recovery software, running out of storage space, moving files into Microsoft OneDrive to make room for more recovered data, and generally watching progress bars creep across the screen at what feels like geological speed. Tectonic plates move faster than my upload/download speed I think.
It's been frustrating, to say the least.
As I sat there waiting for files to recover, it struck me that we often do exactly the same thing with our own lives.
We spend so much time adding more. More commitments. More information. More goals. More things to do. Eventually everything starts to slow down. We become mentally cluttered, overwhelmed and stretched in too many directions.
Sometimes the most productive thing you can do isn't to add something new.
It's to recover what's valuable, clear away what no longer serves you and create a little space for what really matters.
Whether that's returning to your meditation practice, giving yourself a Reiki treatment, spending time with someone you care about, or simply sitting quietly with a cup of tea, perhaps this week is an opportunity to recover something you've unintentionally allowed to slip away.
I'd love to know what that might be for you and it ties in nicely with the article that I wrote and told you about last week.
A couple of people kindly let me know that the link to last week's article didn't work. So if you tried to access it and couldn’t here is the correct link for it:
Thank you to everyone who took the time to let me know.
