Can Reiki Help with Anxiety?
From Chaos to Calm: The Mind Like Glass

A while back, a high-level corporate client came to see me before flying out to a major meeting in New York. She was like a whirlwind of anxiety and stress; tight deadlines, a huge trip ahead and the pressure of leaving other work and meetings behind at her office.
Her system was in overdrive. Overwhelmed. Stressed and frantic.
She lay on the Reiki table, and I did what I always do—held the space, mentally got out of the way, and let the energy do its thing.
After the session, she didn’t want to get up and when she did it was with so much effort as if her body was way too heavy.
She then sat there in silence for a full 20 minutes before saying softly: “My mind feels like a sheet of glass. There’s not a single thought on it.”
That’s not a one-off of course. This reaction to a Reiki treatment is par for the course. It’s a routine response to Reiki.
Over the years, I’ve seen countless students and clients describe similar things: the best night’s sleep they’ve had in years, a sudden sense of peace, or an unexpected stillness in the mind.
It’s not that Reiki “fixes” anxiety (you can’t ‘fix’ anxiety unless you can get your mind out of the future and only meditation is going to do that). It’s that it creates a space where the noise finally quietens down… and the system can reset itself.
Can Reiki Help with Anxiety?
That’s the question I explore in this week’s featured article:
“Can Reiki Help with Anxiety?”
We live in a world that’s relentlessly noisy, mentally, emotionally, energetically. Reiki won’t overwrite that with more noise. Instead, it invites the volume down and brings you fully into a relationship with the present moment. But it’s temporary.
In the article, I explore:
How Reiki affects the nervous system
Why trying to ‘fix’ anxiety often backfires
What real clients experience (including Sarah)
Why Reiki’s non-directive nature is its strength
